Training workshops

I have developed, delivered, and evaluated workshops on trauma informed care , and vicarious trauma and resilience and for staff at all levels of community and mental health organisations.

Some of the organisations I've developed and delivered trauma informed care training to include the Sydney Local Health District mental health services, and the not-for-profit organisation, Community Restorative Centre. I have delivered training for Blue Knot Foundation (BKF - the peak national body for survivors of trauma), and the Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC - the peak NSW body for community managed organisations). I've also consulted on educational material for BKF and contributed to MHCC's Trauma Informed Care & Practice Organisational Toolkit. I really enjoy teaching and talking on the topics of trauma, trauma informed care, and recovery. I also aim to make the process of training on these topics trauma informed, by prioritising a sense of safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, choice and empowerment. Basically, I try to convey what I know and believe with the genuine passion I feel for the topic. I employ adult learning principles and I encourage participants contribute their perspectives, ideas, and questions. When creating a workshop for an organisation, I work collaboratively in order to genuinely understand your needs and how best to meet them. I seek feedback to ensure that I am on the right path.
